I’m always up early, even on weekends when I don’t have to work, it’s unusual for me to stay in bed past 7 am. I enjoy the quiet time when I can read, write or do a bit of meditation or cleaning. Saturday morning I continued reading this wonderful book from Raven Grimassi, Spirit of The Witch, I can’t believe I have never read this before. So insightful. Then I went into the kitchen and did some cleaning, after which I took a nap. Around 1 pm, my partner and I traveled down to New Hope, Pennsylvania. We went to the downtown area, where there are lots of great shops, cafes and fun things to see. We stopped into Gypsy Heaven, the local Witch store, although I didn’t find anything that I absolutely HAD to have (probably since I already have most of it). I love that they make their own spell candles and ritual items. I’m finding lately that I’m buying less in actual stores and buying more online, mostly due to the fact that I’m usually looking for something specific and the shops don’t carry it. And if I can’t find something, I try to make it myself. We also visited our friends at Celt-Iberia Traders, a store we love that sells beautiful items imported from Ireland and Spain. The owners are two awesome guys, they always greet us by name, and their store is very warm and inviting. Great music and lovely celtic décor. There are even a few pagan items there, some great figures of Cernunnos and decorative pieces. We saw some stunning stained glass celtic candle-holders that we’ll definitely go back for.
It was a bit cold on Saturday, but I enjoyed walking around the town and visiting the shops. I don’t think I bought anything at all this time, which is unusual, I usually find something to snap up. We came back home Saturday evening, and started watching Season Three of True Blood, which we have on DVD. (Yes, we’re a little behind, and we don’t have HBO so we just buy it on DVD).
This morning (Sunday) I puttered around on the computer, we took my partner’s mom to church, then we went to the gym. We belong to Planet Fitness, but we honestly haven’t been going on a regular basis. We are trying to go at least twice a week, but that doesn’t always happen. We went this morning, I rode 6 miles on the bike and worked on my arms, shoulders and abs. I really just want to lose some weight and develop my upper body a little. I’m 48 years old now, so that might be a stretch. After the gym, we went to have breakfast, and then I came home to work on my book. I am currently on a chapter called “Chakras and Horcruxes”, explaining how I have connected each of the horcruxes to the seven major chakras. This has been an interesting chapter to write, as much of this information comes from personal meditations and interactions with the Potter entity. I’m trying to write it in the way that I received it, and in a way that is understandable and makes sense. I won’t go into all the details and the why’s, but here is how they are linked:
- Root Chakra: Tom Riddle’s Diary
- Sacral Chakra: Nagini
- Solar Plexus Chakra: Marvolo Ring
- Heart Chakra: Slytherin Locket
- Throat Chakra: Hufflepuff Cup
- Third Eye Chakra: Harry
- Crown Chakra: Ravenclaw Diadem
It makes total sense the way these are linked, and I will explain it all in my forthcoming book, “The Boy Who Lived: Magickal Spirituality in the Harry Potter Universe”.
Today we also did a bit of grocery shopping, and picked up some Carolan’s Irish Cream (the store we were in also had bottles of Egg Nog-already mixed with brandy-and I was SO tempted to pick one of those up too). I found a recipe online for an Irish Cream Cake and I’ve been anxious to make it. I plan to make two of them: one for us at home and one for our Yule celebration in a couple of weeks.
So, all in all, a relaxing weekend. In a little while we will settle down to watch Once Upon A Time, and then later my partner watches The Walking Dead (during which I leave the room). You would think that if I can handle True Blood, I could handle The Walking Dead. But no.
Time for a drink.
